Watercolor Rendering and Color Theory

  • Dates: Monday, 9:00-11:00am, 10 Weeks
  • Tuition: $90
  • Instructor: Don Smith

In this class we will begin with the vocabulary of color terminology and principles of color mixing. Students will focus on technical aspects of this unique transparent medium, working first with botanical objects and branching out to rendering heads of animals dressed in human costumes from classical paintings to expand students’ abilities with the medium. We will look at composition and many examples of watercolor throughout art history and used in illustration to inspire students with their own final projects.
