Susan Wright is currently enrolled in the Certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration Program through the New York Botanical Garden, which she began in 2021 following her retirement from the City of Northampton where she served as the city’s Finance Director. Her long-standing interest in nature and art, which began when she studied Environmental Design and Landscape Architecture at UMASS, has most recently led her into the world of botanical art. Since then, she has taken art classes at Greenfield Community College and has studied for the past two years with Hill’s own botanical art instructor, Beverly Duncan. In addition to her interest in art, she completed the six-year Master Weaver Program at the Hill Institute in 2010.
