Joanne LaCour

Joanne has been sewing for over 50 years.  When her children were young she sewed much of their clothing— overalls, pants and dresses with bodice embroidery along with a matching set for her daughter’s doll.
As her family grew she shifted her focus to quiltmaking.  She taught quiltmaking and applique at A Notion to Quilt.
Her love of sewing was re-kindled during Covid as she returned to apparel constuction for herself.
Joanne joined sewing classes at Hill Institute to meet other sewing enthusists,  to improve her garment constuction and fitting skills.   She enjoys the process of sewing, finding the “hidden gems” during a fabric swap and the thrill of wearing what she has created.  Joanne now wears mostly “me-made” clothes.
