Audrey Hyvonen makes quilts with commercial fabrics, natural imagery and abstract representation. A primarily self-taught textile artist, she has explored approaches in both traditional and mosaic piecework, layered collage and mark making through quilt texture. Audrey has work joining the Studio Art Quilt Association International exhibit: Opposites Attract and toured for two years with the national show: Threads of Resistance. Regionally her work has been exhibited in the Mancuso World Quilt Show and the Vermont quilt show. Her work has shown in Western Massachusetts at Assemble, Hope and Feathers, Elusie Gallery, Easthampton City Arts Gallery, The Big E, Hands Across the Valley Quilt Show and #LOCAL Gallery. A member of local guilds HAVQG and NMQG, Audrey is currently a visiting artist at Easthampton High School and works out of her garage based studio: Big Top Quilts, in Easthampton, MA.
