Skin-on-Frame Boat Building – Waiting List Only; the instructor will be available to answer questions

  • Dates: Saturday, 8:30am-12:00pm, 15 Weeks
  • Tuition: $270
  • Instructor: Craig Addis

Skin-on-Frame boatbuilding is both a skill and tradition in many cultures around the world, from Inuit kayaks to Irish coracles. In this class each student will be building their own personal canoe or kayak chosen from several offerings. These boats, while based on ancient traditions, will use modern materials that provide for improved strength, light weight and durability. It is not unusual to build a boat that weighs less than 25 pounds! The boats will have frames cut from marine plywood with lightweight stringers of softwood that are covered with a tough polyester fabric skin sealed with paint.

CRAIG ADDIS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AT REGISTRATION. HE WILL BE TAKING NAMES FOR THE WAITING LIST FOR THIS CLASS.
