Rug Hooking as we know it started as a way to use scraps and has evolved into an artful craft. Color, pattern and a simple technique combine to produce beautiful, useful textiles. Learn how to hook and finish a rug, mat, footstool or decorative wall hanging. Create your own design, adapt existing work or use a purchased pattern. The emphasis is on using new or rescued woolen fabric or yarn in colors and textures of your choice. Students develop individual styles while learning the techniques needed to make strong, useful hooked pieces that last for generations.
