This workshop will familiarize and train students in the proper and safe operation of the Juki Industrial sewing machine. In the course of three hours we shall cover operation of the machine, threading, bobbin winding, stitching, safety precautions, basic maintenance, and machine capabilities. All students will practice setting up the machine, stitch with sample materials, and will be encouraged to take notes along with handouts provided. Upon completion, students will be comfortable and able to use the Juki Industrial sewing machine independently for their own projects during designated times. The designated times are on Fridays when the classroom is available. Dates and times are limited due to already scheduled workshops, classes, and events. People must contact the Office (413-584-1725) in advance to schedule time to use the machine. The charge is $5 per hour, payable in cash or check at the time of usage.
