Ink Wash and Watercolor (All Levels) – Not Being Offered in Spring 2024

  • Dates: Wednesday, 1:00-3:00pm, 10 Weeks
  • Tuition: $90
  • Instructor: Margot Glass

In this class we will explore the wide range of possibilities for working on paper using these two water-based mediums. Weekly topics and demonstrations will cover investigations of brush wash and ink line drawing techniques, color and tone, tools and paper, various inks. We will look at work by artists using these mediums for inspiration and example. Students may bring in subject matter of their choice to work from, but there will also be a weekly still life setup for those who are interested. Experimentation is encouraged! All are invited to explore both ink and watercolor, though students may focus on one medium if they prefer, and work as independently as they would like. All levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced painters.

NOTE ABOUT NECESSARY COVID CHANGES TO CLASS PLANS – Spring 2021 Semester

To My Drawing, Color and Ink Wash & Watercolor Students,

Due to the necessary Covid accommodations required to make our classroom experience safe for all, there are two changes in place for our lesson planning:

1: To avoid having high touch/shared objects in class, I will give students a schedule of lesson topics and possible extra materials to bring to class each week.

2: There will not be a central shared still life set up in our Ink Wash & Watercolor and Drawing classes due to social distancing seating changes, but we will work around this issue with students bringing their own subject matter.  There will be space for a student to set up their own still life on their work table, or to bring a photograph to work from if they prefer.

Thank you for supporting our efforts to make these adjustments for the safety of the community.
