Intended for absolute beginners as well as more advanced learners, this class introduces aspiring penmen and penwomen to the fundamentals of this graceful, cursive script. Written by means of a pointed pen and variable pressure, Copperplate, or “English Roundhand,” flourished in the 17th and 18th centuries and is an ancestor of the penmanship style taught in American schools well into the 20th century. While difficult to master at first, a steady hand and diligent practice will produce eye-catching results.
