  • Dates: Wednesday, 5:00-7:00pm, 10 Weeks
  • Tuition: $100
  • Instructor: Susan Wright

In this class, we will start with the basics of graphite drawing, focusing on creating precise outline sketches using proportion and perspective. Through observation and measurement, we will work with botanical subjects such as, leaves, twigs, seeds, fruits, flowers and vegetables to capture them accurately. Then we will explore tonal techniques, using various grades of graphite to add depth and dimension to our drawings, with an emphasis on light and shadow. Finally, we will experiment with combining graphite and colored pencil to enhance our compositions. Students will have the opportunity to create artwork based on their individual botanical interests.
