Whether you’re thinking about purchasing a DSLR or have one you have yet to fully utilize, this two-day workshop is for you!

Day #1 – We’ll thoroughly review the digital camera body in detail through visuals and handouts covering important items such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO, focus modes, metering modes, and tips for composition.

We will also explore how phone cameras, fixed lens or interchangeable lens cameras might benefit your preferred type of photography. We will also briefly review the great features of camera specific, free software, that allows you to tweak your photo a little or a lot.

If you are contemplating purchasing a DSLR, we will discuss some bodies and lenses that will not break the bank and get you started on your photographic journey.

Day #2

Using a DSLR, we will see how aperture, shutter speed and iso work together to create your vision of a photo that will please. We’ll practice with different metering modes that help you to expose your photo correctly. Finally, we’ll practice using the different autofocus modes to make sure the subjects you want in focus…are.

Time permitting, we’ll import photos into some common processing software and demonstrate how some small tweaks can enhance your photos.

You are encouraged to bring your equipment to the workshops and time permitting, we will address particular questions you have.

If you are planning to enroll in the Nature Photography class, these workshops will give you a head start in getting the most out of the class.
