Liz Sorenson loves to teach knitting! She is the owner of Sheep & Shawl and a fiber artist specializing in knitting, knitwear design, and teaching. She started knitting in high school. She has taught knitting locally and in eastern Massachusetts over the past 20 years. Her knitwear patterns are available online at https://www.ravelry.com/designers/liz-sorenson .
She opened Sheep & Shawl in August 2013 to help support local fiber farmers and fiber artists, supply local yarns and roving to customers, create a welcoming space for the fiber community, and pass on her love of knitting and weaving to others through teaching and networking. She closed the store in 2021 and continues to sell fiber products through her online http://www.sheepandshawl.etsy.com shop.
Liz received her Weaver’s Letter of Achievement at the Hill Institute, and “follows” the Pioneer Valley Weavers Guild, Weavers of Western Massachusetts, and Working Weavers Studio Trail. She has joined Western Mass Fibershed as a volunteer and knitwear designer. She looks forward to adding weaving back into her fiber career in the near future.
