Welcome to the Hill Institute

Hill Institute

RULES AND REGULATIONS OF HILL INSTITUTE:

The purpose of the adult classes at Hill Institute is to teach the student to be proficient in a particular craft or skill. To achieve this goal, the ratio of students to teacher will be limited in number so that the teacher has time to provide instruction and guidance to all students. Students must be 18 years or older to register for the adult classes. All classes are adult classes unless the class name and/or accompanying description indicate that the class is for youths and/or teens.

Because some of the machinery and equipment used in the courses, such as but not limited to quilting, sewing, and woodworking, can be dangerous, each student MUST have the physical and mental skills to operate the equipment.

Hill Institute reserves the right, at any time during the course, to decide whether a particular student is capable of participating in a course safely without putting himself/herself or others at risk; and whether a particular student is disruptive in class. This decision can be made at the sole discretion of the instructor at any point in the course. A student may appeal an instructor's decision to the Administrator of Hill Institute. Students who are unable to participate safely, or who are disruptive in class will be withdrawn from the course, and the course fee will be refunded.

Hill Institute does not have storage facilities for work in progress. It is the responsibility of the student to transfer project materials or crafts to and from each class. Hill Institute is not responsible for the damage to, or loss or theft of, any of the student's property.
