Craig Addis

Craig Addis has been captivated by wooden boats since being dropped into the middle of a wood and canvas canoe wearing an orange canvas life jacket as a very small boy. During the week, Craig works as a mechanical engineer but spends his evenings and weekends teaching introductory woodworking and the construction of paddles and skin-on-frame boats at Hill Institute. Craig has also taught others the art of cedar strip canoe and kayak construction at Hill Institute and the WoodenBoat School in Brooklin, Maine. When not paddling boats, building boats, teaching boat building or reading about boats, Craig enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and cooking.
